Ally Hilfiger and Steve Hash tied the knot on June 24, 2017 at the bride's family estate on Mustique, a private island in the West Indies that features some of the most beautiful beaches you've ever seen. The couple-she's a fashion designer and daughter of Tommy Hilfiger, he's an artist-first met in 2010 at an art show in New York City, and spent the entire night talking. After a few dates in the city, Ally flew to visit Steve on vacation in Costa Rica, which is where they fell in love as they took a road trip through the mountainous jungle. After six amazing years together, including the arrival of their daughter Harley in 2015, Steve proposed at Parc des Buttes Chaumont in Paris in 2016, and the couple turned to Hello Gem Events in Los Angeles to make sure every detail was in place.
“Steve and I are both creative people and have similar taste, so we had a lot of fun planning our wedding,” says the bride. “We wanted it to be whimsical and relaxed, really keeping consistent with the feel of the island.” They sourced as many elements as they could from the local community and neighboring islands, from the flowers and furniture to the steel drum band. But of course, an island just north of Venezuela isn't exactly accessible! “You can only get to Mustique by boat or small prop plane, so coordinating the arrival and departure of our 100 guests was a little challenging,” Ally explains. But it was worth the extra work, and the pair was able to fill homes around the island with their loved ones, just in time for sea turtle hatching season. Their island-chic wedding, photographed by Tec Petaja, was filled with natural elements, soft colors, and rum punch. Ally's favorite thing to wear on evenings in Mustique is a slip dress, so why should her wedding day be any different? The bride and her father collaborated on a hammered satin gown with a bias cut and a low back. The pièce de résistance, though, was the cape she donned instead of a veil. The flowing organdy was hand-embroidered with flowers that faded from white at the hood to blue by the hem, making for an edgy and dramatic entrance. The thick heels of her Saint Laurent disco sandals were perfect for walking in the sand-and added some height to her petite frame!
Steve put a rocker twist on the beachy vibe, wearing a slim-cut white linen tuxedo (by Tommy Hilfiger, of course), with a white wedding shirt designed by the bride and his grandfather's snakeskin boots.Photo by Tec Petaja

Ally carried a bouquet of white peonies and tropical foliage as her father walked her down the aisle, which was marked by clusters of driftwood and palm fronds, and a pair of friends served as officiants in a ceremony that incorporated earth, water, air, and fire through carefully chosen elements atop an antique table.
Says Ally, “We were supposed to have our ceremony on a different beach, but when we arrived we realized it was the middle of sea turtle hatching season. After watching a massive turtle lay hundreds of eggs, we decided to move the ceremony to the beach behind my family's house, which ended up making everything easier and more sentimental.”Photo by Tec Petaja
Ceremony music was provided by a close family friend, none other than Ronnie Wood of the Rolling Stones. “He played a selection of his own music, using my late uncle's acoustic guitar,” Ally describes.Photo by Tec Petaja
After the ceremony, the couple headed to a nearby beach to take photos and have a few moments alone. “We ended up jumping into the ocean with all of our clothes on!” Ally says. “Salt water hair really is the best.”Photo by Tec Petaja Photo by Tec Petaja Photo by Tec Petaja
Back at the Hilfigers' home, guests drank rum punch as they enjoyed classic West Indian specialties around the pool before heading to a single long table on the beach for dinner.Photo by Tec Petaja
“Steve's dream was to have everyone seated at one really long table, with the meal served family-style,” says Ally. Eggshell linens were topped with blue-and-white Spode dinnerware, vintage wood and brass flatware, and ivory hemstitch napkins. Platters of grilled lobster, curries, and Caribbean salads were set between low arrangements of local foliage accented with white peonies and clematis.Photo by Tec Petaja Photo by Tec Petaja
For the reception, Ally changed into a backless Vera Wang gown she'd found while shopping with her mother. She paired the lacy style with a 19th-century Pakistani belt, an antique pearl-and-diamond choker that belonged to her mother, a turquoise triple scarab necklace loaned to her by Lizzy Jagger, and Yves Saint Laurent pearl earrings borrowed from Jerry Hall.Photo by Tec Petaja Photo by Tec Petaja
After sharing their first dance to “Space Oddity” by David Bowie, Steve and the couple's daughter, Harley, shared a father-daughter dance to “I'll Be There in the Morning” by Townes Van Zandt. The couple then cut into three different cakes. “We had a local black fruitcake as the groom's cake, a vanilla sponge cake with mangoes for Harley, and a sponge cake with custard filling as our wedding cake,” says Ally.
It was then that the party really got started! Steve's friends Lena Brown (a.k.a. Tuff Ghost), Aku Orraca-Tetteh, and Sonny Moore (a.k.a. Skrillex) all took turns at the DJ booth, playing sets late into the night. A Moroccan smoking tent provided cigarettes, hookahs, and towels for guests to dry off after late-night skinny dips. Says the bride, “We danced until the sun came up!” says the bride.
