Your wedding budget applies to more than just the venue and your bridal gown. All of your wedding beauty products-from the lipstick you'll wear for that ceremony kiss to the hairspray that'll keep your mane from wilting on the dance floor-should be factored in, too. And just like your venue and wedding-day ensemble, you should know when to save and where to splurge on your bridal beauty essentials.

Sure, you know that you can skip the favors to splurge on the open bar. But do you really need to pull out the credit card for high-end mascara or will a trusty drugstore brand hold up to all your wedding-day tears? What about a concealer to cover any dark circles from a late night of wedding planning-should you save or splurge? Luckily, not all of your products have to come with a jaw-dropping price tag. Thanks to so many high-quality drugstore brands on the market today, you can save tons of cash on certain makeup must-haves. But, that being said, there are definitely some products that are worth the splurge.

Here's what to save and splurge on when it comes to wedding beauty products.

Splurge On: Skincare

“If your skin looks great, everything else will just work,” says makeup artist and influencer Katie Jane Hughes. That's why it's smart to invest in a good moisturizer, retinoid serum, and (of course!) a sunscreen. “It's the crucial step in your beauty routine,” says L.A. dermatologist Rachael Cayce. She says a $200 face cream might seem like a splurge, “but it should last for six months or longer of daily use.”
